Standard Round Steel Piling

Round pipe piling is a hollow steel product that supports and stabilizes the foundation of a building, particularly those on unstable surface ground or in marine environments. They are driven deep into the ground (at least 25 feet) with a hydraulic pile hammer, and act to transfer loads from the structure to stronger underground soil layers.

Service Steel’s selection of pipe piles is among the strongest in the industry and ideal for supporting bridges and structures for commercial or residential projects. We stock a variety of ready-to-ship pipe piling in standard diameters 8 ⅝” through 20” with wall thicknesses ¼” up to ⅝” all in grade A252-3. We also offer full-service processing capabilities, such as cutting to the desired length or galvanizing to increase moisture and corrosion resistance.

Steel Pipe Piles FAQs

Steel piling pipe is used for stabilizing the foundations of structures that are abnormally large and heavy. Common applications for pipe piles include bridges, offshore construction, and communication towers.

At its most basic, pipe piling is driven and forced into the ground. This can be done by hydraulic hammers or a machine that drills or bores the pile down into the ground.

Round pipe piling prices can widely vary based on size, rendered services, market conditions, and other factors.
